It’s 8am in the morning, the kids are on the bus, or you have a few left with you, the day begins to take shape and it takes you with it! Before you know it that half-drank cup of coffee is too cold to drink and it is 3 in the afternoon. The kids are back off the bus, back home and it is time for the mom Taxi Cab shuffle to sports, and activities to begin. You look in the refrigerator and have nothing ready to go. You are driving the kids thinking what am I going to hurry up and make for dinner with the least preparation and the best taste but you are coming up with no game plan. Suddenly, you think to yourself that stopping for food might be the best answer, but….. IF you have kids the thought of even ONE More stop whether it is for a food pick up or a beverage pick up can simply throw you over the edge, believe me I can sympathize. I have 3 kids and I can not stand that “ONE MORE STOP” because it is always that stop that creates the most havoc in the day. I can hardly stand the buckling, unbuckling, kids crying, fighting with each other about who is getting to unlock the car with the remote key chain or who is getting to carry the food it just all gets old 17 hours into a day!
Generally, (as most moms are) I am in a large hurry to get food to the kids during the weeknights and I often prepare meals ahead to get us through the week but there are weekends that I simply can not get it together because our weekends are as busy as our weekdays. When I get this overwhelmed, I step back and decide which night we are picking food up, what kind it might be, and how much the to budget in for that food pick up. The price paid for hamburgers and french fries is not just a monetary price but one the body pays for with bad fats for the heart and what does not land in the heart lands on the behind, so driving through those yellow arches may not be the best way to spend your time!

OVERVIEW:
There were plenty of options on the menu which made ordering a breeze. The timing worked perfect for us as we picked up our dinner after ice hockey practice. I never had to take the kids out of the car which on its own is a blessing. I sat there, in my car and the food came out to me! My family chose the Chicken Parmesan with Pasta, Salad, and Bread sticks. There were 6 pieces of chicken and the salad was HUGE! The packets of cheese, napkins, forks, and paper plates made serving it up at home a quick, effortless deal. All the kids and my husband ate until they were stuffed and I had to just throw away empty containers. It made dinner time a fun event, and we actually lingered around the table even longer than normal~ I do believe because there were no dishes to do. The meal was a great way to end a busy day. This is the perfect meal at the perfect price level. Pittsburgh Frugal by every means!
I wanted to do a large shout out to our Car Side Hostess! Absolutely wonderful person who was kind, informative and helpful! Thanks. We visited the Robinson Township Olive Garden.
