One of the most frugal tips that I can offer you is really quite simple, with any container, make sure to s-w-i-s-h!
If you have laundry detergent, fabric softener, tomato sauce, etc., make sure before you toss it, you swish it with water to get all the cleaner, food, etc out of the container and into your wash, or pots, and so on. You can not believe how much cleaner, or sauce you are throwing out if you don’t swish it with water.
Very Frugal and a very good tip to maximize your purchases!

Lol, my husband makes me clean everything out anyway because he doesn’t like stuff going into the recycle bin all gunked up.

Swishing is a habit I started a long time ago. Actually, my hubby got me started when I saw him even swish a packet that powdered drink mix was in! Our kids even do this now. It really is a great frugal tip!
