I don’t know about you, but I hate resting my head on a pillow that is warm.  It does not matter the season, or the time of day, if my head hits a warm pillow I can not rest. Tossing and turning, turning and tossing and suddenly it is 2 hours after I tried to go to sleep.  It has become the ridiculous battle of trying to find a cool spot on a pillow and I am losing the battle.   Worn out, exhausted and just wanting sleep, I finally pass out.  This whole process could be so much easier, and I am finding out more and more that I am like so many other people in the world.  The answer everyone needs is the  PolarPillow!   The PolarPillows  are pillows made just to keep your head cool so you can sleep. When I was offered the opportunity to try PolarPillow I accepted the offer immediately.  After all cooling off at the end of a hard day of work, and being a mommy is a great reward, but I had no idea how wonderful the pillow actually was going to be and feel.  I feel asleep, calm, cool and really relaxed and I slept all night(pretty unusual).  The coolness on the pillow was amazing.  There was no tossing or turning on this pillow because it was cool all over.  All I placed on the pillow was a pillow case.

The pillow came well packaged, but I have to tell you, the pillow is not light.  When I picked the box up, I wondered if there were rocks in it and what was in it.  I was amazed that a pillow could weigh so much but, the weight of the pillow so is made up for by the feel of the pillow.  The weight is necessary because of the coolant that is inside of the pillow.

WHAT MAKES THIS PILLOW SO COLD? LET’S TALK TECHNOLOGY

The pillow is a compact size.  It is smaller because it has a more concentrated focus(your head) and it is  21″L x 14″W x 3″H.

How exactly does this pillow work?  

The temperature of the air that is surrounding the PolarPillow  is absorbed by it and in turn, and the pillow then transfer coolness to your head.  This effect will take place for 2 hours, however, there is a special PolarPack that comes with the pillow and if you put the pack in the freezer before using it, and then once frozen place the pack back into the center pocket of the pillow it is even colder against your head.  Think ice packs without the cold burn sensation.

The cooling effect takes place within 10 seconds of your head hitting the PolarPillow.  Both sides of the pillow are cool so there is no need to turn the pillow, it is the same on both sides!  The PolarPillow is cooled by itself.  The PolarPillow absorbs coolness from the air and then delivers it back to you when you lay on the pillow.  The PolarPillow stays cool to your head for about 2 hours of direct contact(however I was asleep and did not know the difference:) This is all based on basic room temperature conditions(not extreme conditions of any sort).  The pillow will recalibrate its coolness when it is not being used and it takes only 20 minutes to cool down for the next use.

WHY WOULD I WANT A PolarPillow? 

If you love cold pillows or a pillow flipper(who loses sleep because you are endlessly searching for the cold spots), are pregnant and want to feel cooler, have hot flashes, are sunburned, are sick with a fever, or suffer from headaches this pillow is key to a dreamy night!

GENERAL CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR PILLOW

Make sure to use a pillow case on the pillow as this will extend the cooling time of the pillow just a bit. Wash the pillow case, not the pillow.  The pillow can be spot cleaned by hand. Do not leave other blankets or pillows on top of this pillow so it can breathe.  This will ensure maximum airflow to pillow and maximum cooling potential!

If you have tried other pillows that make cool claims but don’t deliver, you have to try this pillow.  Coolness is its whole reason for existence.  I can honestly tell you when my head touches this pillow cool air is what I feel and I am content and sleep well.  The cooling temperature of this pillow is amazing and I have used it for a few weeks now, so I am certain of how it works.  There is no flipping, nothing fancy here, just a basic pillow that works.  Do know it weighs quite a bit, and you won’t be moving it around or having pillow fights with it, but I bet you sleep COOL!
