The month of budgetary constraints is what January should be named rather than January! With everyone in cut back mode I thought I would throw a bit of information at you to help Aldi-cate you on ALDI!
ALDI SOCIALIZING – HAVE YOU JOINED THE PHENOMENA?
There are a lot of choices in grocery shopping, and I enjoy traveling to many stores to shop. One of my favorite stops is ALDI and it’s and education on its own!
If you are an ALDI shopper you know how to ALDI socialize. You know the time when you are walking to return you cart to the cart return in order to get your quarter back and you simply ‘bump’ into another ALDI shopper. You look at each other, you say, ‘hi’ and then they ask if they can take your cart, you rejoice, they hand you a quarter and then you have been Aldi-socialized! Welcome to the phenomena! A simple coin and cart exchange!
WHAT YOU NEED TO SHOP AT ALDI:
Bring a quarter because you need it for your grocery cart. You will get the quarter back when you return your cart. (whether you are Aldi Socialized or whether you truly just return the cart)
Bring shopping bags in order to bag your order up. Yes there are bags in the store, but you pay for them.
Bring your frugal side and bring your doubting side because ALDI will change your attitude on name brand foods!
SHOPPING ALDI
When you walk into ALDI you will see a store simply laid out, not with 100 aisles but just with the basic aisles. I love that I know where everything is. Once you shop there a few times you will learn as well. The store is not reset, so you will not get thrown a curve ball!
Milk prices are great, especially Almond Milk! Under $3 every day! If you have a hot dot connoisseur in your home, get ready for some .99 hot dogs! Have a family that loves cheese of every form? Aldi has great pricing on blocks of cheese and grating cheese, and shredded cheese and they often have special ‘imported’ cheese like Jarlsberg and Smoked Gouda. Their chocolate is some of the creamiest, best tasting chocolate I have ever tasted and while I am not a chocolate fiend I do enjoy the rich taste of the ALDI brand that is offered.
VEGETABLES
The Aldi Produce section is by no means huge, but it will fill up your basic produce order : lettuce(artisan and head), cucumbers, peppers(often multi-colored and green) zucchini, onions, potatoes, broccoli, carrots, celery, bananas, seasonal fruits(strawberries, blueberries) applies, oranges, pears, nectarines and plums(seasonal) and a few other items. The cost on the produce is over 1/2 off what you pay ANYWHERE else. Iceberg lettuce alone makes the trip worth it!
JUICE
Apple juice is 100% pure and you will find a sweet price!~
LUNCHBOX SNACKS
There are a huge assortment of items you can use in your kids lunches and yours all priced right!
ALLERGENS
One of my favorite things about ALDI food is that my son that is allergy plagued can eat so many of the foods at ALDI that are ALDI brand, like their donuts, chips, pretzels and krispy treats! Make sure to check for yourself as allergies are specific to each child, but in our house it makes shopping a breeze because I have go to items and he loves and waits for them!
Save hundreds of dollars every month by shopping at ALDI! And that is your ALDI-CATION FOR JANUARY 2013!
