A package arrived at my door step the other day, but I don’t really think the package was for me, I believe it should have read, PITTSBURGH FRUGAL MOM CHILDREN! The box caused such excitement I should have used it to bribe a few chores out of the kids. What my crew knows is when a package arrives from Giant Eagle it contains something that Rocks! The squeals ensued as the kids opened the box! Any guesses as to what it was?

The phone is Feature Rich, including a 3.2″ Touch Screen, a Virtual QWERTRY Keyboard(receiving THUMBS UP from the kids), and the Camera is a 3.2MP/Camcorder. The kids are thrilled and it is MORE than they need!
As a mom, actually, who I am kidding, as Pittsburgh Frugal Mom, this phone has a special Twist on it to keep things on a budget, but still have a quality product: No Contract, Pay by-the-month, unlimited EVERYTHING service, including Talk,Text, Data and calls to 411! I can choose the service contract amount I want, or choose not to pay on a month. There are a few plans to pick from such as $25 a month, or $100 for 180 days, and there are others as well. I will break this all down for you as I begin learning how a pay as you go works.
Now, I have to mention this: Why in the world I would purchase a phone from Giant Eagle instead of any other wireless pay- as -you- go carrier? Perhaps because of an item known as the Advantage Card… Fuel Perks come to mind for every $50 you spend you get .10 off gas? “ Do I earn fuelperks! for both the purchase of my no-contract phone and prepaid wireless cards?“ Yes, your purchase of a no-contract phone and prepaid wireless cards counts toward your regular fuelperks! earnings. I am working on getting the phone up and running for my tween. My intent: over the next month, teaching a tween, about Unlimited services with LIMITED months of service! How to earn it, keep it and appreciate it! The phone is a nice phone with a value to it. Frugal is not cheap — it is getting the most out of your purchase without sacrificing quality, which has already been achieved by the phone type and the NO CONTRACT!
My first step in the process will be figuring out which plan will apply once we are done with our trial. I am challenged at current to learn and decipher which plans work with the phone and which ones don’t as the site is unspecific as to if you can just use a texting plan/calling plan with a data capable/net surfing phone or if you must purchase an all inclusive plan. I am a trained yearly contract holder, so this is a huge difference in my wireless world. I know nothing about month-to-month contracts and how they differ. I have deciphered this much, ” Am I restricted on what plans I can buy for my phone? Plans vary by carrier. You may choose any plan for any prepaid handset supplied by that carrier. Exceptions include Android, whose handsets require an unlimited plan, and NET10, who has specific monthly cards. You choose your plan as you activate your phone.” I found this information HERE.
