Just like the strike of a match starts a huge flame, the show starts with a simple matchbox making sounds and suddenly something so small LIGHTS the Stage on Fire with simple items creating GREAT music! STOMP brings their big sounds to the Burgh’.
I have often been amused at how little it takes to entertain my children, things as simple as pots and pans, but when you see how the little things begin to make sure great sounds when combined in the proper fashion, Cool sounds happen.. STOMP happens.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
STOMP will be live on stage for approximately 90 minutes without an INTERMISSION so make sure to plan accordingly.
SOUND
The sound level is not something to be concerned with, contrary to what the people next to us in line were saying. The lady and her family standing next to us were preparing to wear ear plugs and prepare for blaring canon ball blast sounds and honestly, I have no idea why? Remember, these cast members are all percussionists, quiet would not a good show make! I was happy to hear the great noises made by each item used as they ranged from: sounds that were as soft as a broom sweep, swooshing sounds from a swinging bungee line to intensifying, commanding, pulsating, vibrant, but not crazy— stronger sounds made by trash cans! Every item had its own sound and honestly it was PERFECT for the show. The pulsating sounds led to the energy in the room.
THE TALK IN THE LADIES ROOM
The talk in the ladies room after the show described the creative use of items in the show that offered such great sounds when used in the manner that generated these sounds(newspapers crinkling,etc). The most incredible sounds of the evening as agreed upon by to ladies standing in the same line I was in was….. the plastic bag scene(as referred to by the ladies in the line). I also think that moment was very intriguing! I heard a few chants about the caliber of energy it took to command the performance, and the leg work that goes into the show as well, all happy banter, singing the praises of STOMP! I have to admit however, I think everyone must have missed the part of the show that I thought was the best ~ the Zippo lighters, precision unlike anything you will ever witness, nothing short of AMAZING!
MY VIEW
The energy level in the show is non-stop, with a pulsating, compelling beat that makes you want to get up and DANCE! There is no way to sit in the seat and not STOMP your feet!
