It was just about a year ago at this time that Chris Mann faced a career changing moment : A blind audition for The Voice. Chris just had the hopes to make it on to the show! While Chris Mann, met his hopes and exceeded them as he joined Christina Aguilera’s team on The Voice. Fast forward a year and may I present you with Chris Mann, ROADS ~ his own CD! Chris Mann is signed to Faircraft/Universal Republic, a new label formed by renowned producer/music executive Ron Fair. the album is classical-pop genre.
A BIT ABOUT CHRIS:
Chris studied opera at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Chris has spent many years of his early career entertaining the ‘club scene’ audience and even auditioning with out much success. Chris worked behinds the scenes at Glee as a session singer and he even made a few on-camera appearances as a cast member of the vocal group the Warblers. Chris pushed himself harder and further and presented himself the challenge of auditioning for The Voice. I guess you know the rest, because it is now history and Chris Mann has this wonderful album, ROADS which I was given the early privilege to listen to!
ROADS
Roads is different than ANY album I have reviewed recently. The songs range from Willie Nelson, and Lady Antebellum compilations and then an “Ave Maria” all belted out with absolute crisp, soulful, richness, depth and tone! The music allows you to really understand the true vocal range of this young talent and it is Amazing!
MY FAVORITES
My partiality is to a beautiful church song, by a perfect pitch is what has created me to VOTE for the ‘Ave Maria’ as Chris’s best song on the Album. Honestly, clean, crisp vocals, performing perfect on each note leaves you beckoning for just “one more verse”. I love the song and I have heard really bad versions but this has to be ONE of my favorite and it is STANDOUT on this album. ‘Viva La Vida’ is another song that I found a lot of vocal depth and creativity~ I truly could listen again and again. The entire album is easy listening on the ears and beneficial to the soul! A committed voice with well-interpreted music.
