More often than not families believe that the only way to have fun is to go out and spend money, but that really is not necessarily the case.  Family time can be spent in many different ways but it is up to you how FUN family time is!

We recently received a FIRE PIT and the kids have been counting down the days until my husband brought home the fire wood that would burn in the pit! The preparation that led up to the FIRE PIT inauguration was almost as fun as the inauguration itself!  The kids had me take them to the grocery store and we purchased GIANT SIZE Marshmallows, Chocolate and Graham Crackers.  Then they went into our storage area in the basement and got the SMORE STICKS to prepare their Marshmallows on.  My husband came home loaded with wood to burn.  We went inside for a little while and it began to rain!  We really could not believe that the weather that had been PERFECT all day long had changed on us like that!  With High Spirits and a house full of ANXIOUS kids we prayed for the rain to stop, and IT DID!

We went outside and readied the pit.  My husband stacked the kindling and the logs and F-I-R-E happened.  The kids quickly got seated and began singing funny little camp songs including one from SPONGE BOB about CAMPFIRES and then it was time: SMORE TIME.  The kids feasted on Fire Pit Roasted Marshmallows and Chocolate and Graham Crackers while we just sat back and watched!  The skies cleared and the stars came out, it was an ABSOLUTELY PERFECT NIGHT. Clearly the PIT is not in its final position, or set up in a special area, but the kids were dying to use it and we were so happy to have a Great Family Night.
